Magda Gathani is an associate at Schwartz & Ballen LLP working in the areas of financial services, payment systems, and cybersecurity. She assists financial institutions and fintech companies, including money transmitters, prepaid card issuers and online marketplace providers in addressing regulatory and contractual matters. Prior to attending law school, Magda worked for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati in Palo Alto, California where she focused on corporate governance for startup and Fortune 500 technology companies.
Magda received her J.D. degree in May 2016 from George Washington University, where she served as the Current Developments and Projects Editor of the International Law in Domestic Courts Journal. During law school, she published an article titled Internet of Things Report: The FTC Overstepped its Agency Rulemaking Authority, and several articles in Oxford Reports on International Law. She is a recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2011.
